Our story began in 2009 when Northern Airborne Technology (NAT) elected to cease manufacturing operations in Canada. Founded in 1979, NAT built a solid reputation in their avionics engineering capabilities, with NAT products being synonymous with quality, reliability, and longevity. When they closed their doors, an opportunity for an employee-owned, vertically integrated company presented itself – and Anodyne Electronics Manufacturing (AEM) was born.
Starting with quality and customer service as core values, AEM has grown into a family of over 90 people working together in a 32,000 square foot facility in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada. We are a committed team, taking pride in our origin while we continue to grow our combined skills, experience, and capabilities within the aviation and avionics industries.
The most valid measure of our work is our customers—we serve them by being a leader in the design, development and manufacture of aircraft communication systems, loudspeaker systems, caution/warning panels and illuminated panel products. Dedicated troubleshooting, repair, and refurbishment services complement our product lines, providing customers with a reliable resource for their avionics needs.
AEM also provides comprehensive electronics manufacturing services for emerging companies with STEM products, addressing solutions for the unique challenges of lower volume, high-mix product configurations, and accelerating the go-to-market process.
For small industrial clients and large OEMs alike, our greatest strength is our ability to adapt to our customer’s needs and to deliver the highest levels of workmanship, quality, reliability, and service.
In 2014, AEM partnered with Structural Monitoring Systems (SMS) in the development, production, and certification of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) technology. For four years, AEM and SMS worked together to successfully attain approval of the SHM technology by the Federal Aviation Administration and Boeing.
In late 2017, SMS purchased AEM in a strategic move that fully supports AEM projects and business activities.
AEM’s story continues to unfold as the company grows through new business opportunities and new product development. Be a part of our story!
