Dan is responsible for all of AEM's operational requirements. He works with team supervisors and lead hands to oversee Electronics Assembly, Illuminated Panel Manufacturing, Metal Manufacturing, and the Materials Department. Dan also works with the Sales and R&D departments ensuring new projects are seamless.
Dan served for five years in the Canadian Navy as a Naval Weapons Technician. There he earned his Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician Diploma. He joined Northern Airborne Technologies in 1997 as a Machine Operator in the metal shop, and for the next seven years strived to learn as much as he could of the operations of other departments. His goal was to understand how all manufactured parts came together and assembled into aircraft. Dan received a promotion to Metal Shop Manager in 2005, having earned his Red Seal Trade Certificate as a Machinist. In 2010 he became the Production Manager, overseeing the Metal Shop and Panel Department, and in 2012 took on the newly-created position of Operations Manager.
"I enjoy helping people grow with AEM, as I have. Watching people excel at their position makes it a good day."
Dan describes AEM as a close-knit team that works together to get the job done, and he considers it part of his role to ensure people enjoy working there.
Everything Dan does is for his family—he has three children, his youngest being a novice figure skater. This means he puts in a lot of volunteer hours. Dan was a Scout leader for his boys and now sits on the Region Figure Skating Board and serves as Chair of the local Figure Skating Club. Dan's free time goes towards chores and renovations, but he he enjoys camping and amusement rides.
